Orlando

My friends are always using their Orlando vacation rental and I’m a little jealous. They constantly tell us how much easier it is to visit the area because they have an actual house to stay in rather than a small hotel room. They have three kids, so I suppose that would be the ideal thing to do. I’m excited, though, because we’re going to enjoy the rental with them in a few months. They’re going to get a babysitter for the week and we’re all going to have a fun weekend with just the adults. I can’t wait to see Sea World and Universal Studios. I’m not a big fan of Disney World, but I’m sure that will be fun, too. We might even consider getting one of those ourselves after we see how nice it is.

Funeral Insurance gives Peace of Mind

I’m taking a trip to Michigan from California and my wife is a little worried. There are a few reasons why she’s worried. One reason is because she can’t go with me. The trip is going to be nearly 3 weeks long and she can’t get away from work for that long. I, on the other hand, can do my job from anywhere so it will be like a working vacation. Another thing that she is worried about is my health. The last time I checked my blood pressure at Wal-Mart, it was 249/169. I know…that’s stroke range. And I’m a big guy. So one of the things she’s worried about is that something might happen to me while I’m away. I don’t have life insurance, Funeral Insurance, or even health insurance right now. She likes to make a joke about getting life insurance before I leave – “just in case.” But I’m leaving in four days and it’s too late now. To tell you the truth, I’m a little worried, too. I’m glad that I have somebody who’s going along for the ride with me. Otherwise, I might stroke out and end up in a ravine somewhere.

Appetite Suppressants

Tenuate is a new drug on the market that helps your body suppress its appetite. This is a good idea, but I think my weight loss problem lies in my utter laziness. I don’t really eat that much and I don’t get hungry very often, but I just don’t like to exercise. It might be better if I had something I liked doing. I like racquetball, but I don’t know anybody else that likes it. There’s nowhere in my area to play with either. Since we’ve gone car-less for the last few months, though, I think I might start dropping the pounds and seeing results pretty soon.

Las Vegas Luxury Condos

The other night on the TV show Las Vegas, they were mentioning the idea of having Las Vegas luxury condos built in the casinos. How amazing would it be to own one of those condos? Well, it wasn’t actually condos, but rather master suites. That would still be awesome to actually live in a casino. That would almost be a dream come true – living where all the action happens and watching all of the thrill and excitement that is Sin City. Maybe if this blogging thing takes off, one day I can own one of those things. Keep dreaming, eh?

Motorcycle Sunglasses

Aren’t motorcycle sunglasses the coolest looking things? I just saw a guy on wrestling and he was wearing a pair and I looked at my wife and said, “I gotta have a pair of those.” She didn’t agree. She never does like my ideas though. The time I wanted to live in a van was quickly shot down, even though I offered to let her live in the house at the same time. I just wanted to take a full-size van hundreds of miles away and survive on my wits. She said I wouldn’t last very long if that’s all I had to survive on. Ahh…wives. What would we do without them?

Mailboxes

My uncle used to have kids that drove through his neighborhood and obliterate the mailboxes along the street with a baseball bat. It’s a federal offense, but it’s not like the police are going to do anything about it. It’s small potatoes to them. So my uncle finally got fed up with it and he put a solid steel encasing around his mailbox. It took him awhile to make it, but it looked just like the original mailbox, only about 20 times stronger. The next time a thug took a swing at it, it gave him a really good rattle and didn’t damage the box at all. Since then, the hoodlums haven’t terrorized the neighborhood.

Catholic Gifts Story

My aunt and grandma got into an argument one Christmas over what my grandma perceived to be a Catholic gift. My grandma is Baptist, buy my aunt is a devout Catholic. My grandma does not appreciate anything that is not Protestant, especially Catholic gifts. I was young, but I think the gift was a picture of Christ on the cross, which she interpreted to be a crucifix – one of the main symbols of the Catholic religion. She felt that my aunt was trying to insult her religion for some reason. Things between those two stubborn ladies have not been the same since then.
